Miletus (Miletos), ca. Established in 2000, it was an important ancient port city in the west of Anatolia, located on the seaside, close to the mouth of the Menderes River, which was also the motif of many works in ancient times in the Aegean region. This city, which became very rich as a result of being an important trade center where goods exchanges were made between Europe, North Africa, Aegean Islands, Cyprus and Asia in ancient times, became very strong militarily thanks to its strong navy. Depending on this abundance and prosperity, philosophy developed along with science, and the most important philosophers of the period such as Thales and Pythagoras were fed from this city.
Miletus Pitcher (Clover Mouth Oenokhoe), BC. It was designed with inspiration from a terracotta jug dated to 630 BC. Griffon, goat, gazelle and waterfowl are depicted on it, and lotus and lotus buds are depicted on the bottom border.
